Hi there!

Born in Grand Junction, my family and I moved to Golden in 2013 where I attended Golden High School. Among my myriad career aspirations were teacher and non-profit worker — more than anything, I always wanted to help people. After graduating from GHS in 2017 I went to college at the University of Northern Colorado, where I studied International Affairs. Four years later, I emerged with a double minor in Anthropology and Environmental Studies, along with latin honors and the completion of the Interdisciplinary Honor’s program at UNC. I had studied on Semester at Sea and seen the world, become an active member of a student-led environmental club, completed an internship at a refugee resettlement agency, and, least expectedly of all, found a passion in social media at the university’s Media and Relations department.

My first experience with social media marketing was as a content creator for UNC, where I told stories about my experience on Semester at Sea and encouraged students to explore study abroad programs and see the world for themselves. Once I returned from my voyage, I was hired as a social media ambassador for UNC where I led social media campaigns, managed Snapchat takeovers, and covered events for the university’s Instagram page.

In 2020, as I watched the COVID-19 pandemic unfold and many small businesses in Golden closed their doors — temporarily or permanently — I wanted to help in some way. I had lost my job at the university as students left campus to study from their homes, and the budget no longer allowed for student employees. I reached out to Susan, the owner of The Red Wagon, who had employed me over summer and winter breaks for several years and whose store I would have been absolutely heartbroken to see close, and I proposed the idea. If you’ve had a chance to read her testimonial or look at my portfolio, you’ll know that she said yes.

In December 2021, I completed a certification program in Social Media Marketing from Cornell. The following February, Dancing Roots Media was born and I officially owned my own business. I wanted to name my business something that embodied my philosophy on social media management: creative and fun, but still rooted in data.

I keep up on the latest trends, social media platform updates, and best practices to make sure my clients get top notch work from me. I look forward to working with you!
